Pressure increase systems are used wherever the pressure supplied by the water works is insufficient for the intended purpose. This is often the case with the water supply for multistorey houses.
 
The pressure shell pumps ensure that the water pressure is adequate to supply hight-rise blocks of flats or higher-lying urban areas. These pressure shell pumps can be laid vertically and, up to a certain number of steps, also horizontally.
 
One advantage of vertically laid pressure shell pumps is, however, being able to set up the entire pump system on a very small surface area.
